Procedures
Procedures
are chosen to fit the need of diagnosis, treatment, or prognosis.
After evaluation, the treatment of a patient with sciatica is
most likely to begin with epidural steroid injection. The treatment
of back pain may begin with a caudal epidural steroid injection,
or progress to facet injections, provocation discography, sacroiliac
joint injection, or trigger point injections. These are not simple
shots; they are x-ray guided spinal injection procedures.
Chronic resistant
pains following surgery or many months of failed treatment may
require more aggressive treatments as listed under Disc Procedures,
Neurostimulation, and Spinal Drug Administration
All spinal
injections should be performed with fluoroscopy in a certified
operating room following the latest standard of care.
